The legislation makes victimisation unlawful. In Queensland, victimisation happens if one person does or threatens to do something to another person’s detriment because this other person:

refused to do something that would amount to discrimination;

had alleged or intended to allege discrimination against someone else in good faith;

is, or has been, or intends to be involved in legal proceedings under the legislation.
It is also victimisation if a person believes that the complainant or someone associated with them, is doing any of the above things.
Vilification because of a person’s race, religion, sexuality or gender identity is also covered under the legislation. This is the sort of public behaviour which incites people to hate others because of their race, religion, sexuality or gender identity.

Discrimination
